Screen Printing

Screen printing is an essential element of strategic marketing and brand awareness for businesses of all types and sizes. To screen print onto t-shirts and other apparel, a stencil is first created from your unique design and transferred onto a tightly stretched fine mesh fabric screen that's mounted onto a frame. Previously, silk was utilized for this purpose, hence the alternative terms silk screening or silk screen printing.

Next, ink is applied on top of the stenciled screen and a squeegee draws it across the surface, pushing the ink through the stencil and imprinting it onto the fabric below via the stencil's open spaces, creating a distinct design.

Screen Printing Process

To set up your screen printing artwork, we need to divide the colours in the artwork.

The cost for the colour dividing is $35.00.

If you or your company have the ability to divide the colours into separate files, the charge will be gladly waived.

The next thing to do is expose a film containing with the printed artwork to the special screen made of a mesh material using UV light. This creates a negative image on the mesh that will allow ink to pass through the clear areas, or areas where the artwork exists in the original. For every different colour, you’ll need a different screen.

1 Colour - $25.00

2 Colour - $47.50

3 Colour - $65.00

4 Colour - $80.00

Please note that the set up fees are every time you order shirts. If you will be doing a lot of screen printing, we will gladly sell you your own personal screen for $175.00 per colour or $600.00 for all 4 colours. These will remain at our store (or if you want to, you can take them with you) and use them in perpetuity (The screen mesh can tear if proper care isn’t taken, so precautions are necessary to increase the longevity of the life of the screen).

We at SS Brand It have a variety of colours to choose from. Once we have chosen your colours, it’s time to screen print. We recommend a minimum of 12 pieces, but in certain circumstances, we are able to waive that. Our prices for screen printing are below.
